Underpayments

Where to begin?

Determining your entitlements and whether they arise under a contract, Enterprise Agreement, Modern Award or the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) can be confusing. If you were made redundant, dismissed or just underpaid we can help.

You’re not alone

Our client worked in child care until she was dismissed. She couldn't challenge the dismissal but we identified she was underpaid. We proved the underpayment and recovered it.

She said …

... I say unreservedly that jaguar law was impressive in both their professional and human approach. They did not charge me full lawyer's fees, but still offered me professional and honest counsel about my rights and whether I was unfairly dismissed. They went the extra mile and gave me lots of information, and also helped recover unpaid entitlements. A good many lawyers may exist everywhere. However a good lawyer and person is a rarity - I am grateful the people at jaguar law belong to this rare breed. I do thank you jaguar law, for your exceptional professionalism and exemplary humanism.

What about deductions?

They can’t take my money, right?

Deductions not authorised in writing and for your benefit would likely contravene section 324 of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) unless permitted by law, a Modern Award or an Enterprise Agreement.

Making the tricky simple

To avoid repaying an unlawful deduction, the employer alleged our client damaged work property and sued him. We recovered the unlawful deduction and ensured the claim against our client failed.

Our client and his wife said …

... jaguar law helped our family with two very different matters including unpaid wages and a contractual disagreement. Contrary to stereotypes about lawyers jaguar law was caring, respectful, professional and seemed truly motivated to uphold and fight for what is right and just. We would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone needing help. Thanks for the great service. It was nice having a decent person guiding us though these tricky situations. It felt like having a big brother helping us out rather than a big law firm.
